FREEZING!

So Toledo area schools were closed today. They were not closed because of snow or icy conditions, but because it is so damn cold. So, why the hell do I have to walk across college campus??!! Haha, I love how I feel as though I should be allowed a "snow day," when I could have taken one if I really wanted to.

I cannot wait for Thursday at 3pm. All of my projects will be turned in for this week and my test will be over! Just in time to begin round 2!

I am looking forward to tomorrow evening. I am finally allowing myself the time to go to the gym and work out and then participate in a yoga class. I am very excited. I also have Friday night off. My mom is coming over and we are putting together a surprise for my brother. Bob turns 40 on the 9th of February, and my sister-in-law is throwing a surprise party. My mom and I are putting together the picture board o' memories. Here's a sample: this picture was taken of Bob and me shortly after he got into his accident at the VA Hospital in Milwaukee.

Next would be my image for 1/29/08. Again, another i-Photo booth image. What else am I supposed to do in the Mac lab during class?? :)

Now the image all the way at the top is for (today - kinda after midnight my time zone) 1/30/08. This is part of my photography project. We were given an assignment that kept us locked in a 10x10 space of our choice and we had to be creative with it. I chose the kitchen because we spend a lot of time in there making food. Food has always been an important part in my life. It is a way that you share love in my family. I know that may sound strange, but growing up with a father who was a chef and now having a husband who is one, food has a bigger role.

holy badness batman!

So, I obviously slacked recently. It was not my fault though. I blame the University. Stupid projects and only 6 hours of sleep over 3 days. Luckily, when Thursday rolls around and I am test and critique free, I have this beer to enjoy! Cannot wait!! I love Bell's beer. They have an amazing cherry stout too, and their Oberon is one of my favorite beers EVER (next to some Fat Tire and Newcastle). Only 3 more days ("oh you know I will be coming home to ya darling...")...

TO BED I SAID!! No wait, more school work. Dammit! :P

Oh and it wouldn't be a complete blog unless I showed you Sunday morning's art mess...

the start of my week...

So my work week beings today! Yippie! I wish there was a way to really show my sarcasm here. Since I am back in school my work week went from Monday through Friday to Friday through Tuesday. Working weekends sucks. That's all. I have a lot of school work to do this weekend too. My 100 sketches project is due Monday, my Photo project due Thursday and a test auf Deutsch on Mittwoch (Wednesday). It's all good. I am organized and totally ready to conquer it all! I took a picture of my corner. This seems to be the place where all my crap gravitates.

i-photo fun! and matt's new hair...

So today in Photography class we went to the computer lab and played with the i-Macs. I love the i-Photo program. I messed around with it more than playing with the CS3 Bridge program like I was supposed to... Oops. Above are three of the pictures I took. I was having too much fun with it... obviously.

Yesterday I cut Matt's hair. This is the photo from that, taken with my cell phone (you know it is really not my best camera). I took it yesterday. It was fun, and I didn't screw it up this time. Well, except that he looks a little like Dudley Moore, or perhaps a Beatle (Woooo)... or even a microphone top. Woot.

i absolutely love that this sign is under the clock in the photo department of the cva. it makes me very happy. today i had classes and work. i have tomorrow and thursday off from work and i am very excited. i love my patients at work, but sometimes their negative attitudes are just too much. i can only do so much to keep everyone in good spirits. negativity of others can be very draining. i feel like i am repeating myself from the past two blogs. so i will stop now.

i am getting really excited about my 100 words/100 sketches project. i am taking a really abstract approach to it. it is really cool. all i am going to say is "food for thought." you will just have to wait until it is done.

oh, hahaha, so today at work, before i left, i played a huge prank on my co-workers. i found these jumbo pens in a dollar bin. they are huge, like four normal pens thick and like two and a half pens tall. so i bought enough for all my co-workers and hid all the normal pens and replaced them with jumbo pens. can you even imagine a nurse trying to chart things with a jumbo pen??! i think it is hilarious. anyway.... till tomorrow!

i have a dream.

Happy MLK day. I did not have school today so I worked all day instead. Today was busy with all the patients. Good day though. When I got off work, Matt picked me up and we drove up to REI to look at new packs for our trip this summer. I am so excited. I got a new bag tonight. It is super sweet. It is a Kelty. I like Kelty products. It is nice, durable, adjustable, and a good price. I love REI. It was worth the hour drive. Matt got a new pack too. We really are in the update stage for our gear. We need a new tent since ours was a casualty to the Kansas winds last summer. We have a few in mind. Here's a picture of me with my new pack being a goofball. Love it.

Matt and I also took some photos and this one is my favorite. It is not my favorite because it is compositionally precise, I just like it. Since it was a low shutter speed it caught our movement into our kiss. It is a bit dark, but the lighting in the house is bad. I still think it looks cool.

And here we are just being silly. (hey, I know it is three images not one, but I never made rules that I could only post one. :) So there!)
