I love my daddy.

So. This entry is not going to be long. Just a tribute to my dad. He died three years ago today. I miss him more than ever. I wrote him a poem the other day. I think he would have liked it.

Magoo is cool. Matt and I dressed Magoo up. It was funny. Matt took a picture of it with his phone and he text it to me. It was quite hilarious.
Signed up to take 12 hours of summer classes today. I am trying to get it done!
Matt and I went to my sister Cheryl's for dinner tonight. It was nice to see her and the boys. We missed them dearly. Jacob and Austin made sure I knew that Uncle Matt and I did not see them last month. It is really hard though when they are only with my sister every other week. When everything gets crazy you lose track of what is going on. I promised Jacob that I would never let that happen again. I love the boys.

today is wednesday.

Today I had classes all day. For lunch I took some time and went to Kate's house to have lunch with her, Jacob and Katie Zink. This is Kate's last week on maternity leave, so she is trying to absorb all of us as much as possible. We had Panera today and I did well with the tomato soup and grilled cheese (on soft bread sans crust). I am still having issues eating solid foods. I cannot wait until I can sink my teeth in a hearty sandwich.

Worked on some digital art projects today. Getting my submissions ready for the student art show. Fingers crossed. My media professor was really impressed with what I did and helped me think out my artist statement. He also recruited me for his summer course. It should be fun. It is a three week course but it is 5 hours a day/5 days a week. I am excited about it though.

Here is a pic of Magoo. He is a cool dog.

TOOTH BE TOLD... (for Yates)

I have some "tooth" to be told... but too many people read this for me to dump it all out...
So, I won't.

Saturday, Sunday, Monday and today (Tuesday):

This weekend I crammed in a bunch of working before AMRI doesn't have MME patients for a while. Now we are waiting for people to call and get treated. Good thing I have a few freelance jobs possibly lined up. Just have to email my resume and portfolio.

I had to do a photo narrative for class over break. So this weekend in between working at AMRI I worked on that. I have some really neat photos. I even worked on my self portrait too. Spring break was over too soon. I will admit having my surgery over break was probably good for me because for once I was forced to slow down and actually relax. It has refreshed me creatively which is good. I have projects that I look forward to starting, and projects that I have started and look forward to seeing them get finished. I am becoming some sort of a hermit though. I think for now I am okay with that. My art is flourishing this way. I wrote some more poetry too. Matt has been pretty inspirational too lately. He keeps the wheels in my head turning. We are looking forward to me getting my B.A. so I can go to grad school. I think we are going to take that opportunity to move away for a few years. I think it will be good for both of us. Matt agrees.

Started back to class yesterday. It was good to see some of my classmates. Last night, Matt and I went over to the McCarthy-Cottle residence. Cottle was my model for my narrative photos (with Matt). I thank her much for freezing her buttocks off for me. :) Plus I am sure Ryan appreciated our visit, it kept him from having to focus on his homework. :)

Here are some photos:

"so this is the beginning of agriculture... obviously the point of the movie." - Jacob Dusseau

Today I went back to the office part of my job. I was incredibly busy and therefore extremely tired. Still drinking my food. Love it. Tried to chew again today, still too painful. Went to see 10,000 B.C. tonight with Matt, Jacob and Kris. The movie was okay. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. At the end of the movie Kris decided he needs his own indigenous tribe to follow him around with spears. I took my picture in the bathroom with my cell phone. You can obviously see that. I am going to bed now.

hmmm... lazy week...

So, I have not been feeling as hot the last few days. I really over-estimated my recovery. This liquid diet crap is starting to piss me off. Don't get me wrong, I like my pureed soups and all, but I am really tired of drinking them. Matt took me to Organic Bliss to get fresh veggie juice to break up the monotony for me. I tried to eat soft-solid food yesterday and it caused much jaw pain and caused bleeding. I know, gross, but besides watching movies and having lots of jaw pain, that is all I have to talk about.

I have a picture or two...
March 4, 08 GET OUT AND VOTE!!
Even though I didn't feel like doing much, I got my butt out to vote! It is my right and my duty. I am not going to even start talking about how disappointed I am with the outcome of Tuesday's primaries...
(Matt must have been saying something important...)

March 5, 08 STAY IN AND BE BORED!!!
So I really didn't do too much today. Watched a lot of movies while Matt went to work. Ran a fever mid-day. Spent a lot of time napping. When Matt got home, he got me up and took me out for a little bit. We just went for a nice drive and went to Squeaker's in BG to get some fresh made juice. I know it is a long drive to just get juice, but Matt knew it would be good to get me out of the house for a little while. We drove down 6 and went to look at the wind mills. I am still in amazement of them. Then Matt and I engaged in a lovely conversation about alternative energy. I love my hubby. He loves to listen to me rant and rave. Here is my pic of the day:

March 6, 08 BLAH, BLAH, BLAH!!!!
So last night, I slept very little. I was so uncomfortable I almost broke down and took my pain killers. You know it had to be bad, because I NEVER take prescription drugs. I napped a bit after Matt went to work. I watched Across the Universe and Forrest Gump. I also returned to work today. I had the 5pm to 11pm shift. I almost called off, but chose to get my ass back into routine before I would be forced to jump head first back into work AND school on Monday. Plus, someone has to make money to pay for the darn surgery I just had! Here is a fun photo. Not taken today, but taken recently.

Oh and I like this quote. I found it today.
"We are taught to consume. And that is what we do. But if we realize there is no reason to consume, that is it just a mindset, that it is just an addiction, then we wouldn't be out there stepping on people's hands climbing the corporate ladder of success." - River Phoenix

tooth be gone!

So at 8am this morning I had my 4 wisdom teeth extracted. The top two were partially impacted while the bottom two were not. The whole procedure took no more than 45 minutes and I was in the car by 9:05. I was really out of it for the greater part of the morning. My bottom lip and tongue were completely numb until about 3pm. It was kinda crazy. I pretty much only slept all day. For dinner, Kate made me ORGANIC potato soup pureed (she knows how I like it). It was really good and I really appreciated it. Matt made me mushroom barley pureed too(organic as well, of course). I am excited to eat my soups tomorrow. I am not feeling too bad surprisingly. Matt and I are getting ready to watch Across the Universe. It is one of the movies he bought me for being a big girl and getting her teeth out. :) He is so good to me. I love him. (Again cell phone picture, no energy to set up other camera).

Happy 7th Birthday OLIVIA!

March 2.08
Today my niece Olivia turned 7. She is growing up faster than I can believe. She is such a beautiful little girl. Today we had pizza and cake for her at her Grandma and Grandpa Spice's house. My mom came too. It was a really small party, but a lot of fun. I loved being about to see Sara and Bob and the girls. It was a nice evening after working all morning. Olivia had to eat her entire name when we cut the cake! Lizzie as usual was a ham. She was posing for the camera phone camera. She cannot get enough of having her picture taken. Of course, I forgot my good camera and had to rely on my phone instead. Here are the pics:

March 1.08
I did not do too much today. I worked until 11 and then picked up Matt from Kris's house. Matt, Kris and Jacob played Fantastic Four on the Wii all night. They did bring me sushi though. That was pretty kick butt. I started reading The Glass Castle tonight. I really enjoy it. I think it will be good for me while I am recovering during my spring break. This was the picture I took of myself while sitting at work:

February 29.08
Leap day! WOOHOO!! Today it snowed a lot, and it was rather beautiful. Matt dropped me off in the morning at work. When I got off work, I walked to class. Class was not too bad. It was the last one before SPRING BREAK!! I then walked to Biggby's, had a cup of coffee and then walked back to work for my 5-11 shift. It was a pretty nice day. When Matt picked me up at 11 we met Jacob at Waffle House for a late bite. It is nice having him back in town again. I did not take a picture today though. I know. I suck. So instead I am posting my favorite February photo of Matt and me. We's gangstas!

February 28.08
Here's the photo I promised. It is of me and Liz.

So that is all for tonight. I may be short a few photos for the next few days. I am getting my wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow morning at 8am. Wooty woo... If you are lucky I will let Matt take a photo of my chipmunk face, and I will post it. If you are lucky! Good night kids. I will post about my teeth.

"You shut your mouth when you are talking to me!" I love Wedding Crashers. Hilarious!!
